Wood County Sheriff's Department Seeking Information Regarding Structure Fire in Wood County

Wednesday, May 24th, 2023 -- 2:00 PM

On Monday May 22nd, the Wood County Central Dispatch received a call of a fire inside the structure of the Cameron Club at the intersection of US 10 and State Hwy 80 in the Town of Cameron, Wood County.

The Cameron Club is no longer in operation but it was clear to investigators on scene that an individual or individuals entered the building and attempted to start the building on fire. Thankfully, due to the quick response by local fire departments, the fire was put out quickly with minimal damage.

The property is located to the North/West of the roundabout at the intersection of US 10 and State Hwy 80. The fire was started in the late evening hours and reported to Wood County Central Dispatch at 7:43 PM.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Department is looking for anyone who might have seen a vehicle, individual(s), or anything suspicious around the Cameron Club last night between 5:00 PM and 7:43 PM.
