Saturday, May 20th, 2023 -- 5:59 AM
On Wednesday, Cadott Police were dispatched to traffic complaint on STH 29 eastbound from the CTH J area.
The involved vehicle was reportedly deviating from it's traffic lane and the complainant was concerned the operator might be impaired. Cadott PD located the vehicle on STH 29 and made contact with the driver at River County Plaza in Cadott. After speaking with the driver, observing the interior of the vehicle, and checking the driver's history on CCAP, a K-9 unit from Stanley PD was called to the location and an open-air search was conducted. The K-9 alerted to it's handler of the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, and a search of the vehicle was conducted.
As a result of the search items were seized as contraband and the driver, Dawn M Hase of Oshkosh, was taken into custody and booked into the Chippewa Co. Jail on the following charges: Felony Bail Jumping (4 counts), Felony Poss. of Methamphetamine 3g-10g (5g seized in total), Felon Poss. w/Intent to Deliver - Methamphetamine, Felony Poss. of Drug Paraphernalia (repeater). An additional charge of Felony Poss. of Methamphetamine was added after the suspect attempted to enter the Chippewa Co. Jail with concealed narcotic drugs. They are thankful for the assistance from the Stanley Police Department, K-9 Officer Tyler Lewein, his K-9 partner Trey, and the Chippewa Co. Sheriff's Office for their help in taking these drugs off the street.
