(Bob Hague, WRN) A slight readjustment to the state’s fiscal outlook.
The nonpartisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau on Monday projected that state revenues will be $755.1 million lower than the agency’s January projection. That would still leave the state with a $6.9 billion surplus at the end of June, and revenues are expected to grow over the next two years.
The Republican co-chairs of the Joint Finance Committee, Representative Mark Born and Senator Howard Marklein said the re-estimate confirms that the Legislature is on the right track in putting together a cautious budget.
