On Saturday May 6th, deputies from Wood County Sheriff's Department were called to a residence in the Town of Saratoga, Wood County for concerns with drug related items that were found on the premises.
Upon arrival deputies located what is suspected to be a dimethyltryptamine (DMT) lab inside the residence. DMT is a drug that substance abusers snort, smoke or inject for its psychoactive affects.
DMT has a hallucinogenic affect similar to LSD and can have short and long term effects on the body which include, loss of coordination, confusion, seizures, coma, respiratory arrest, psychosis, rapid heart rate, increased blood pressure, and paranoia, all which could lead to death depending on the situation.
DMT is found in a number of plant materials and can be extracted in a clandestine lab. These labs are extremely dangerous and can lead to explosions or fires. If you have concerns that you have located a lab or its byproducts please do not go near it and call your local Police or Sheriff's Department.
After the lab in Saratoga was located the Wood County Sheriff's Department contacted the Wisconsin Department of Justice - Division of Criminal Investigation as they have a team that performs a safe clean-up of these dangerous labs and byproducts.
Drexel Sosnovske (Age 18) was located and arrested on charges of Manufacturing/Delivering Schedule I or II Narcotic and Resisting/ Obstructing an Officer in connection to this lab. Sosnovske is currently being held at the Wood County Jail.
