DNR Offers Communities Links and Resources to Remediate PFAS

(Raymond Neupert, WRN) As more Wisconsin communities start testing for PFAS, the Department of Natural Resources is offering help to find remediation.
The Department of Natural Resources is rolling out new tools for communities to help them deal with PFAS contamination. Spokesperson Dana Porter says many communities are learning they'll have to deal with "Forever Chemicals".
"The PFAS community toolkit will help community leaders and elected officials know what steps they can choose to take if they're impacted by PFAS in drinking water."
Porter says smaller communities might not be ready to start. "This new resource will provide community leaders and elected officials with the information they need to spearhead their community's actions through a difficult situation."
Since PFAS remediation is still in its experimental stages, that cleanup can get expensive. The DNR is making sure communities have ways to get federal funding through the recent infrastructure funding laws.
