Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023 -- 10:01 AM
(Ted Ehlen, WRN) A member of the Wisconsin Elections Commission is stepping down.
Julie Glancey made the announcement Friday that she plans to step down on Monday. Glancey was appointed to the commission in 2016 by then-Governor Scott Walker. She was then reappointed by Governor Tony Evers to serve a five-year term ending in 2026.
Glancey said in a statement that it’s time for her to make way for someone with a fresh perspective. Glancey was an initial member of the elections commission when it was formed in 2015 to replace the Government Accountability Board, which was a panel of retired judges that oversaw elections.
