City of Marshfield Looking for Volunteers for Several City Committees

If you're looking for a chance to serve your community, Marshfield Mayor Lois TeStrake is looking for a citizen to serve on the Fire and Police Commission, two alternates on the Board of Review Board, and one on the Business Improvement District Board.
The Office of the Mayor asks residents to submit a letter to the Office of the Mayor, located in City Hall, 207 W. 6th St., Marshfield, WI. 54449, stating qualifications and reasons for wanting to serve on any of the appointments mentioned above.
A letter must be received by Friday, May 19, 2023. Mayor TeStrake will provide the names of her appointments to the Common Council for a first reading on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
These positions are appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the Common Council. The Fire and Police Commission is composed of five city residents, whom each serve a five-year term that meets with fire and police chiefs, and have optional powers.
The Board of Review is composed of five city residents along with two qualified alternate members, each serving a five-year term, and hear objections from property owners regarding the assessed value of a property they own; the Business Improvement Board, composed of seven members who serve three-year terms, is authorized to levy assessments on properties located within the district to fund Marshfield's Main Street program.
