Neillsville Fire Department Responds to Grass Fire

The Neillsville Fire Department responded to a grass fire just before Noon on Friday.
According to Neillsville Fire Chief Matt Meyer, at 11:51am, they received a call about a grass fire at N5431 Grand Avenue in the Township of Weston. When they arrived, they found the road ditch burning.
The fire burned around a third of an acre. The Department believes the fire started as the owner of the home was burning paper and one managed to get out of the container.
The Department was on scene for 40 minutes and they had no injuries on their part. They received assistance from the Clark County Sheriff’s Department with traffic control.
