(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A Wood County man has admitted to inappropriately touching a young child while he was working at a Bible camp.
33-year-old Remington Jon Nystrom pled no contest to one count of Second-Degree Sexual Assault of a Child Thursday, according to a release from the state Department of Justice.
The plea includes an admission that he touched the 10 year old inappropriately while he was working at the Mount Morris Camp in Waushara. The child didn't report the incident at the time of the crime, but later came forward through the state's tip line for reporting abuse by clergy or other faith leaders.
Attorney General Josh Kaul says he hopes the conviction helps encourage more victims who haven't told their stories to come forward.
