There's tax help available for elderly, disabled, and non-English speaking Wisconsinites. IRS Spokesman Christopher Miller says the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program is there to help guide people through the e-filing process. "VITA is generally for people making $60,000 or less. And that's most taxpayers."
Miller says you can locate and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program site near you at IRS dot Gov. "We have a special locator where you put in your zip code or whatever other information you have, and you'll get a list of sites that are near you."
VITA can work with simple tax returns and gets them e-filed.
