Wisconsin Republican Bill Would Allow School Employees to Conceal Carry

(Bob Hague, WRN) Two Republican lawmakers want to allow school employees with a concealed carry license in Wisconsin to carry a gun on school grounds.
Under the proposal from Representative Scott Allen of Waukesha and Senator Cory Tomczyk of Mosinee, school boards would have to approve allowing employees to carry. A co-sponsorship memo says they drafted the bill at the request of the Germantown School Board, and that schools are “ soft targets for those looking to do harm."
State and federal law bar people from having a firearm in a school, on school grounds or within 1,000 feet of school grounds, with some exceptions. Governor Tony Evers would be almost certain to veto this bill.
