Marshfield's Jimmy John's Opening Still Delayed

(Jamie Rokus, Marshfield News Herald) The opening of a new Jimmy John's restaurant on North Central Avenue is still delayed, but the company said last week they are hoping to open in mid-May.

According to Jamie Rokus with the Marshfield News Herald, the delay is due to "some permanent power challenges," a company spokesperson said Thursday. The May opening is tentative and dependent on resolution of those issues, she said.

A representative for Jimmy John's confirmed in August that the new shop would open at 603 N. Central Ave. At that time, they planned for the restaurant to open in late January. It will be located in a new development at the site of the former Hot n' Now, which is a multi-tenant structure with room for two drive-thru facilities.

In late January, the spokesperson said the location was "experiencing some unforeseen delays" and would open in the next couple of months, but she did not provide additional details about the delay.

Jimmy John's also has Central Wisconsin locations in Plover, Stevens Point, Wausau, Weston and Wisconsin Rapids, according to its website.
