On Thursday, April 6, 2023, at approximately 9:07 PM, the Owen-Withee Police Department was dispatched to the area of Central Ave, in the City of Owen, in reference to a traffic complaint.
It was initially reported to dispatch that a vehicle was traveling westbound on CTH X, from State Highway 29, which was failing to maintain its lane of travel. The vehicle eventually turned north onto Pine Street, and the caller continued on.
Upon arrival, officers located the suspect vehicle, which was parked facing the wrong way on E. 4th Street at Central Ave. The driver, who was still sitting in the driver's seat, admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving.
After some time, the driver, who was later identified as 25-year-old Taurino Rosales Cuaquehua, was taken into custody for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. In addition, Taurino did not have a valid driver's license or insurance on the vehicle, and the vehicle's registration was expired.
Taurino was transported to the Colby-Abbotsford Police Department, where he provided a chemical test of his breath, indicating he had a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of .144 -- Taurino was eventually released to a sober party after receiving multiple citations.
