Motorcycle Accident in the Town of Port Edwards

On Thursday, April 6th, at approximately 11:44pm the Wood County Communications Center received a 911 phone call for a single motorcycle accident on State Highway 54 near Swanson Road in the Town of Port Edwards, Wood County.

During the investigation it was discovered the accident involved one individual identified as 31-year-old Colton Allen of Wisconsin Rapids. Allen was transported by Life Link III from the accident scene. The investigation into the accident is ongoing and alcohol is believed to be a factor.

The Wood County Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department, Port Edwards Fire Department, Town of Port Edwards First Responders, Wood County Sheriff's Rescue, Nekoosa Police Department, Life Link III and the Wood County Communications Center.
