City of Marshfield Provides Statement on Failed Public Safety Referendum
Wednesday, April 5th, 2023 -- 12:01 PM
Marshfield's Fire Chief Pete Fletty and Police Chief Jody Geurink issued the following statement today:
Although City officials are obviously disappointed at the results of today’s vote on the public safety referendum, we are appreciative of all our citizens who took the time to evaluate our request, and we respect the conclusion that a majority of them have reached.
On behalf of the Mayor, Common Council, and everyone associated with our police, fire, and EMS staff, we want our residents to know that we will continue doing everything we can to fulfill our mission of protecting their safety and safeguarding their property to the greatest degree possible.
The City of Marshfield will continue to revisit our public safety needs and determine the next steps to ensure the community is supported and continues to receive the fire and police services that they have come to expect.
