Wausau Named One of the Best in the Nation for Those Looking to Buy a Home on a Budget

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) The City of Wausau has been named best in the nation- for those looking for a home on a budget.

A survey by Rocket Homes says the city's median home price of just over 228 thousand, 7 hundred dollars equates to a monthly payment of about one thousand, five hundred dollars. Also working in Wausau's favor- a low crime rate, low tax rate, and relatively low rate of environmental disasters.

Mayor Katie Rosenberg flaunted the results on Twitter, saying "Move to Wausau, buy a house, and have space and money for your creative endeavors." Other markets that made the top ten include Lafayette, Indiana, Lansing, Michigan, and Columbia, Missouri.
