Former Greenwood Teacher's Aide Sentenced for Sexual Assault of a Student

A former Greenwood teacher’s aide and coach charged with sexual assault of a student was sentenced in Clark County Court.
Back in November of 2021, the Greenwood School District informed parents that a staff member had been put on paid administrative leave, but didn’t disclose why. The same staff member then resigned from the District in January of 2022.
An investigation into the staff member, Dylan North, began in October of 2021 when a female student at the District came forward and told officers that she had sexual contact with North on several occasions and sent messages on Snapchat.
Officers also learned North had also exchanged inappropriate messages with a student who was 14 or 15 at the time. He had also reached out to several other underage girls at the school.
During North’s plea hearing back in January of this year, he was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, sexual assault of a student by school staff. Several other charges were dismissed and read in.
On Wednesday, North was sentenced to nine months in jail and three years of extended supervision.
