Enbridge Line 5 Delayed Again

(Raymond Neupert, WRN) A proposed oil line under the Great Lakes is on hold for another 18 months.

The US Army Corps of Engineers says it's delaying the permitting process for Enbridge Energy's proposed Line 5 rebuild. The current Line 5 in the Mackinac Straits is aging and Enbridge wants to build a tunnel to hold a new line.

Conservation groups have long protested the line in general, contending it shouldn't be there in the first place and should be shut down. Enbridge officials say they're disappointed in the delay.
