Two Local Students Awarded Scholarships from the Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Five students accepted into the 2022 PDPW Cornerstone Dairy Academy were awarded scholarships from the Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation (WROF).

According to the Wisconsin Ag Connection, local recipients include Mitchell Guyette and Heron Mireles, both of Chili. “The Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation is pleased to be part of Professional Dairy Producers’ efforts in developing tomorrow’s dairy professionals,” said Joan Behr, WROF president.

“We hope the knowledge these five dairy producers gain from Cornerstone Dairy Academy will help them polish their communication and leadership skills so they can be even more effective on their farms and in their communities.”

The Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation is a non-profit organization that began in 1934 to purchase Federal Housing Administration (FHA)-guaranteed loans following the Great Depression to stimulate Wisconsin’s agricultural economy.

Today, WROF invests in the education of people from rural Wisconsin so they can transform and improve the economic health and quality of life in their rural areas.
