Wisconsin Rapids Man Arrested After Standoff with Officers

A 38-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man was arrested after a standoff with officers.
According to the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department, on Saturday officers made contact with a man, after receiving a report of a domestic dispute on the 2200 block of Carriage Court in Wisconsin Rapids.
Officers made contact with Travis Drollinger and accused him of pointing a pistol in their directions. A 10-year veteran with the Department discharged his weapon at Drollinger. Drollinger went inside the home and the standoff ensued for several hours.
Drollinger later surrendered without incident and no one was injured. Charges of disorderly conduct, recklessly endangering safety, endangering safety by intoxicated use of a dangerous weapon, possession of THC, possession of cocaine, possession of psilocybin and possession of drug paraphernalia are being recommended.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Department, with assistance from the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation, is the primary agency in the ongoing investigation of the officer-involved critical incident.
The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department was assisted by the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, Grand Rapids Police Department, Marshfield Police Department, Nekoosa Police Department, Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department, Wisconsin Department of Justice Division and Wood County Communications Center.
