Strep Cases Increasing Across the State

(Robin Colbert, WIBA/WRN) Strep throat is making its way across Wisconsin.
Wisconsin's Department of Health this week said there's been an uptick in the number of cases turning-up in doctor's offices and hospitals. UW Madison's State Laboratory shows that starting in mid February, about 40% of strep tests came back positive.
The year's prior peak positivity rate stayed under 20%. As usual, most of the cases are in kids and their parents. Strep throat is a bacterial infection that can cause a myriad of problems. Doctors say you should get tested if you have a fever and a sore throat, before strep becomes something worse.
