Former Wausau Substitute Teacher to be Tried for Sexual Contact

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) A former substitute teacher in the Wausau area will be tried for charges of sexual contact with a student this fall.
After a snowstorm wiped out Zachary Robins' three-day trial in February, a Marathon County judge has re-scheduled to proceedings for September 19th through the 21st. Robbins is accused of touching a student through a hole in the back of her clothing, an act that he said was meant as a joke but he later regretted it, while working as a sub in a Wausau school.
He was arrested while working in another area school a few days later. Robins had been employed by a substitute staffing firm, who said he had passed all of their background checks before being hired. They immediately terminated him after learning about the accusations.
