Leaders in Kronenwetter are Still Searching for an Administrator

(Mike Leischner, WSAU) Leaders in Kronenwetter are still searching for a candidate to fill their vacant Administrator position, after no action came from Wednesday's Administrative policy committee meeting and closed-session discussion.
According to Mike Leischner with WSAU, Trustee Ken Charneski says they are fortunate to have Police Chief Terry McHugh helping along, but they don't want him to carry both jobs much longer. "Because the Chief is very busy and he's been very good about filling the position."
He says they're starting their focus on the search for an interim, but if a qualified candidate comes along they will consider hiring them permanently. "Traditionally, it's been several months to find one. And we want to be very careful who we pick for that position."
Last week Trustees had considered offering an interim contract to Sean Dumais, but he withdrew his name from consideration. "A lot of politics inovlved, so he declined. So, we're looking for who we can find."
Duane Gau, who had been serving the Village while on a series of interim contracts, left the post in late February for personal reasons. The village has posted for the job, though so far it's unclear how many applicants they've received.
Also on Wednesday the committee tabled action on the creation of an ethics code or village code of conduct- citing a desire for more information on how such items are handled elsewhere.
That matter drew over an hour of public comment and back-and-forth between Charneski and members of the public who are clamoring for the creation of an ethics commission.
