Value of Wisconsin's Field Crops for 2022

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) The production of Wisconsin’s field and miscellaneous crops was valued at $6.11 billion in 2022, according to the USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service – Crop Values 2022 Summary.

According to the Wisconsin Ag Connection, this was up 6 percent from 2021. The value of corn for grain production totaled $3.41 billion, up 5 percent from the previous year. Wisconsin’s corn price averaged $6.25 per bushel, 25 cents above the last marketing year.

The value of soybean production was $1.61 billion, up 12 percent from 2021. The average price increased $1.20 from the previous year to $13.90 per bushel.

Value of production increased from 2021 to 2022 for oats, potatoes, rye and winter wheat. Value of production decreased from 2021 to 2022 for barley, alfalfa hay and other hay.
