Earlier this month, Augusta 8th graders competed in the Regional National History Day competition in Eau Claire.
In only their second year of competing, the teams made huge growth and the displays were fantastic. Several groups are moving on to the State competition including Taylor Robinson, Sophia Kaufman, and Ellie Paulsrud for their project Forensic Science: How DNA Changed the World; Madelyn Meyer and Kadyn Kirkham for their project The Montessori Method: A Frontier in Educational Philosophy;
And Harley Goss, Riley Charlo, and Thomas Truog for their project Jamie Nabozny: A Pioneer in LGBTQ+ Rights. Recipient of the Wisconsin Labor History Award & Scholarship went to Cecelia Schroeder for her project Shifting Gears: Factory Production During WWII.
