Thorp Students Raise Money for Remembrance Park
Saturday, February 11th, 2023 -- 7:44 AM
Students from the Thorp Public Schools 2022 Middle School Student council, 2022-2023 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), and the Employability class participated in a major community project: the construction of the Thorp Veterans Remembrance Park.
According to American Legion Auxiliary Member Diane Weggen, they are to be commended for raising funds to donate towards the Legacy Stones going in the park to honor veterans. Thanks, also, to teachers Jane Hollister and Rayna Sherfield, and the administrators for their guidance and assistance to these students. Long after these young people leave the halls of the Thorp Schools, their recognition of veterans will be etched in the stone and serve as a reminder to all who come to the Remembrance Park in Thorp and no matter the age, you can contribute to this community project.
You can make a positive difference in the lives of veterans and their families by honoring their service and sacrifices made for America. Thank you, students, and may your civic-minded ideals follow you throughout your lives. For more information on the Remembrance Park, email: [email protected] or call 715-773-0027.
