Marshfield Police Department Responds to One Vehicle Accident Caused by Medical Emergency

Marshfield Police Officers and EMS responded to a report of an accident with the operator actively seizing in the Festival Foods Parking lot.
According to the Marshfield Police Department, around 1:46pm on Monday, February 6th, they received a report of an accident in the Festival Foods parking lot. The caller stated the operator of the vehicle involved was actively seizing.
The passenger of the vehicle stated that she had contacted Marshfield Public Transit for a taxi ride to a doctor's appointment. The operator arrived at the Simplicity Credit Union parking lot.
The operator of the taxi then turned to the passenger and stated “I’m going to have a seizure.” The driver then began to seize, while the vehicle was still in drive, and his foot pressed the accelerator.
The vehicle lunged forward, crossed east Upham Street, hit the curb, and entered the back Festival Foods parking lot. The vehicle then hit a snowbank in the parking lot and continued forward until it hit a storage container, stopping the vehicle.
Both the driver and the passenger were taken to Marshfield Medical Center.
