They’re very excited to be recognized for the ongoing efforts to utilize local resources to feed the students in the district, and are excited to expand even further with some great events coming up.
On February 14th, the Middle school and High school will serve Beef Tips and Red Creek and Forrest street will serve ground beef for lasagna at Red Creek and Forrest Street for Valentines Day. The beef used will be from Scholze Family Meats in Humbird.
On March 17th, students are not eating as much seafood in school meals, compared with other proteins, according to a report from the US Government Accountability Office, so, they have come up with a day to honor seafood. All schools will be offering salmon by utilizing locally produced seafood from Superior Fresh in Hixton.
