Neillsville FFA Starting the Tom Kren Memorial Scholarship

Recently, Diane Kren, former Neillsville Chamber Director, was selected as a recipient for a Christmas Wish, through the Christmas Wish Program, after being nominated by Michelle Walde from Clark Electric.

Funds were given to the Neillsville FFA in remembrance of Tom Kren, who passed away in a tractor accident this summer. Tom was active in the Neillsville FFA and was a dedicated dairyman in the Neillsville area.

The Neillsville FFA has decided to use the donation as a gift that will keep on giving and remembering Tom for years to come. They are happy to announce the Neillsville FFA will be starting the Tom Kren Memorial Scholarship.

The specific details are still in the works but the scholarship will be awarded in one of several areas. A scholarship to help a student get started or further their dairy project, such as help to purchase an animal or even supplies, stall fees etc.

Tom began by purchasing a calf at a Clark County sale as a start to his FFA projects. A scholarship for any student interested in attending a Farm Short Course Program. Tom did a 1 year program in Dairy Herd Management.

The Neillsville FFA is proud to start this scholarship and thankful to the Christmas Wish Program for providing these funds. A big thank you to Michelle Walde for nominating Diane to provide us this opportunity. They are looking forward to carrying on Tom's legacy for years to come.
