Marshfield Finance, Budget, and Personnel Committee Approves Several Items

The Marshfield Finance, Budget, and Personnel Committee met before the Common Council meeting yesterday evening and approved several items to be moved to the Common Council for approval at their next meeting.

The Committee approved the Marshfield Library’s Adult Services position from full time to part time. This position was initially part time and meant to help the Marketing Coordinator for the library. However, that person recently resigned, so, by making this position full time, it will help fill that void.

The Committee also approved refilling the payroll/accounts payable technician position. The current employee in that position is resigning. The Committee also approved some 2023 continuing appropriation or money not spent.

In this case, $43,159 we’ll be moved forward to next year’s budget to the Committed Fund Balance. The Committee also approved to extend an agreement with SEH Inc. for planning services from January 1st-March 31st. This agreement would not exceed $20,000.

The Committee also approved a slight change to the wage increase for all new employees. The wording stated that the increase would occur on July 1st regardless of when they are hired. Finally, the Committee approved the continued partnership with Marshfield Job Center.

The City would continue to pay $12,500 for a part time staff person and North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development would pay $4,500. Again, all these items are not officially approved yet.

They were simply approved by the Committee to be moved to the next council meeting for discussion and possible approval.
