(Wisconsin Ag Connection) Committee members in charge of planning Wisconsin Farm Technology Days in Chippewa County during 2024 have unveiled their choice on where and when the event will be held that year.
According to the Wisconsin Ag Connection, during a press conference on Thursday, organizers announced that the show will take place August 13-15, 2024 at the Country/Rock Fest grounds near Cadott and co-hosted by Close Farms, a cash crop enterprise that grows corn, soybeans, wheat and hay.
Owner Jamie Close told Wisconsin Ag Connection that his family farms about 8,000 acres of land and also operates a custom harvesting business. "We applied to become a co-host after being approached by the county and were happy to be considered," Close said.
"Our plan is to hold tours of our grain storage facility, as well as some of the other local farms in our area. This will be a great opportunity for our community and we're looking forward to holding the show."
The Close property along with the concert grounds will be the site of Tent City, field demonstrations, and parking. Nearly 400 acres will be utilized to make the show run effectively. WFTD General Manager Arnie Jennerman said the venue makes for a perfect site for the event.
"There is plenty of room to continue our tradition of educational, fun, and interesting events which highlights the wide range of agriculture and industry in Chippewa County," Jennerman said. "There will be something for everyone, and we're excited to showcase Chippewa County industry and agriculture as well as the latest in ag technology."
Chippewa County last held the show in September 2004 at Hilger Farms near Bloomer. It also hosted the event in June 1968, then called Farm Progress Days. The area is home to over a thousand family-owned farms, food processors, and other ag related businesses.
Meanwhile, next year's Farm Tech Days will hosted by the Badger Steam and Gas Engine Club between Wisconsin Dells and Baraboo in Sauk County. The dates will be July 18-20, 2023.
