Man Involved in Standoff in Marshfield Walmart Parking Lot Enters Plea to Charges Against Him

The man involved in a standoff in the Walmart parking lot in Marshfield appeared in Wood County Court on Tuesday.
Theodore Trahern is facing ten counts of possession of child pornography as well as a charge of resisting arrest from the standoff. According to the Marshfield Police Department, they received information from a member of the United Kingdom National Crime Agency at the end of January regarding of conversations from an online profile liked to Trahern that talked about sexual acts against a child done by the user.
Marshfield Police contacted Trahern and searched his truck. They found an iPad and phone allegedly containing 37 pictures and two videos of child pornograpy. Eventually, when police approached Trahern with the evidence, he refused to exit his truck.
He said his life was over and had nothing left to live for. He then showed a knife to officers. Officers called for backup and established a perimeter. Eventually, Trahern surrendered peacefully.
During his court appearance, Trahern was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, two counts of possession of child pornography. Several other charges were dismissed and read in. He’s scheduled for sentencing on March 14th.
