Fire Crews Respond to Trucking Business in Pittsville

Fire crews responded to Gardner Trucking off Highway 73 in Pittsville due to a fire in the building.

The call came in around 6pm. Because no one was at the facility, it took longer for the fire to be reported. The building had no fire detecting system. About 75% of the building was involved when crews began extinguishing the flames.

The flammable items in the truck repair shop caused the fire to be much worse. Very little could be salvaged. Crews were able to suppress the fire after 5.5 hours. The exact cost of the damage is unknown as is the cause of the fire.
