Black River Falls Man Sentenced in Eau Claire County for OWI

One of three people charged with possession after being arrested in October of last year was sentenced in Eau Claire County Court.

According to the Augusta Police Department, just after 9pm on October 16th, officers stopped a vehicle and noticed that the three people in the vehicle were behaving suspiciously.

They also noticed evidence of drug use. After a search, police found drugs and drug paraphernalia. Kyle Iverson and Jamie Smothers, both of Black River Falls, and Jason Brown of Merrillan were arrested.

Iverson was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, 2nd OWI. Several other charges were dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to 10 days in the local jail. His license was revoked for 12 months and he must have an ignition interlock device for 12 months.
