Two People Arrested After Execution of Search Warrant in Wood County Have Charges Against Them Dropped

Two people arrested after the execution of a search warrant in Wood County had the charges against them dropped.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Department on Oct. 6 executed five search warrants in the Town of Hansen and in the Village of Vesper, where large amounts of methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin were seized. Investigators also seized a large quantity of U.S. currency and firearms.

The Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids, Nekoosa, Stevens Point and Plover Police Departments, along with the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department and members of the Central Wisconsin Drug Task Force, assisted the Wood County Sheriff’s Department with the arrests of seven individuals.

Those arrested included John Andereggen, Crystal Van Ert, Crystal Volk, John Brogan, Stephanie Bennett, Mark Reiss, and Patricia Kuter. These individuals were taken into custody for different criminal charges, depending on each person’s involvement in the investigation.

Some of the criminal charges include Manufacturing and Delivery of Methamphetamine as a Repeat Offender, Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine as a Repeat Offender, Possession of Cocaine, THC and Heroin, Maintaining a Drug-Trafficking Residence, Child Neglect, Resisting and Obstructing Arrest, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The charges against Crystal Van Ert and John Brogan were dismissed on the prosecutor’s motion.
