Marshfield Clinic Health System has clarified some misinformation regarding their telehealth services.
Some media outlets have reported that Marshfield Clinic Health System was dissolving their telehealth services for financial reasons. However, that isn’t true. In a statement Marshfield Clinic Health System said, “The COVID-19 pandemic has shown the value of delivering care when and where our patients need and want to receive it, whether that’s telehealth or at the nearest health care facility."
"Telehealth visits and in-person patient appointments are equally essential, and they should align, not be a singular entity. Marshfield Clinic Health System has been at the forefront of telehealth for the past 25 years."
"Telehealth was embraced early at Marshfield Clinic Health System because it was an easy way to connect our rural patients hours away to the many specialists we provide.”
“We’re proud of the advancements in this service, and continue to provide patients valuable care alternatives like telehealth as well as Care My Way, which provides flexible, convenient and quick care for common health conditions."
"Telehealth and Care My Way appointments reduce travel and wait times, and keep you safe during high infection periods with COVID-19, RSV and other respiratory illnesses. Patients can use their smartphone, laptop or other mobile device to see their provider when, where and how they want.”
