Forbes Advisor Ranks Wisconsin #15 for The Most Dangerous Place For Drivers

While car accidents can occur anywhere, some roads in the U.S. are more dangerous than others.
In fact, Forbes Advisor found that every 15 minutes in the U.S., there’s a fatal car accident. That’s why Forbes Advisor analyzed five key metrics (fatal car accidents, the number of fatalities, the percent change in car accident fatalities, and fatalities as a result of speeding or negligent driving) to find the safest and most dangerous states for drivers. The new study from Forbes Advisor revealed that Wisconsin ranks #15 for the most dangerous place for drivers. Highlights from our report: Since 2019, Wisconsin has experienced a 8% increase in car accident fatalities; In Wisconsin, 35% of fatal car accidents are a result of speeding, while 39% are due to impaired driving; Nationally, 29% of fatal car accidents are a result of speeding and 35% are because of impaired driving;
Since 2019, fatal car accidents have increased by 7% across America’s roads with over 38,000 car accident fatalities every year; Montana's 150,446 miles of roadway are the most dangerous in the nation, while New Jersey has the safest roads; South Carolina, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, and North Carolina are all among the top 10 most dangerous states to drive in, making the southern region of the U.S. a high-risk place for motorists; South Carolina and Colorado experience the most fatalities due to excessive speed (46%) than anyplace else in the U.S.
