Wausau Man Sentenced for Pointing a Gun at Another Driver

Thursday, December 1st, 2022 -- 2:00 PM

A Wausau man was sentenced for pointing a gun at another driver.

According to the authorities, back in September, 56-year-old Todd Pranke stated that he was cut off by another vehicle on Highway 29 at the Highway 73 ramp in Clark County. Further down 29, Pranke said the other driver slowed down to 55mph and misted Pranke’s vehicle by turning on his windshield wipers.

The driver of the other vehicle stated that Pranke pointed a gun at him when he passed. Pranke stated he pointed a phone at the other driver because he was going to call the police and record the driver. Police didn’t find a phone in the vehicle, but they did find a gun.

Pranke pleaded guilty to 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety. Two other charges were dismissed and read in. Pranke was entered into a Deferred Entry of Judgment Agreements for 18 months. This allows Pranke sufficient time to complete conditions customized in the agreement.
