Marshfield Man Arrested for 8th OWI in Janesville

A Marshield man was arrested for his 8th OWI early yesterday morning in Janesville.
According to the Janesville Police Department, around 12:30am Wednesday morning, they were dispatched to the Quality Inn off Milton Avenue for a traffic complaint. A citizen stated someone was driving recklessly and squealing their tires in the parking lot.
The suspect was gone when officers arrived, but they discovered the vehicle a short distance away and performed a traffic stop. The driver appeared to be intoxicated and smelled like alcohol.
The driver, a 37-year-old man from Marshfield, admitted to drinking, but refused a field sobriety test or take the breath test. After checking his license, officers discovered he was driving on a revoked license and had seven prior OWI convictions.
The man was arrested for his 8th OWI, disorderly conduct, and a probation violation. He was taken to the Rock County Jail where he is awaiting an initial appearance.
