UPDATE: Neillsville School District Cleared After Yesterday's Bomb Threat; Classes Will Resume as Normal Today

After a bomb threat was discovered yesterday afternoon, school will move forward normally today at the Neillsville School District.
According to a statement from the District, "The district buildings have all been cleared, so school will resume as normal on Thursday. A very special thanks to law enforcement from Neillsville and Clark County, as well as the Neillsville Fire Department, for helping to search the buildings and grounds to make the sure everything and everyone stay safe."
Neillsville Fire Chief Matt Meyer stated the Department was called to the school around 2:54pm after the threat was found. He stated the threat was found in the band room.
The Neillsville Fire Department, along with the Neillsville Police Department, Clark County Sheriff’s Department, and Granton Fire Department, conducted a complete search of the building and nothing was found.
The department was on scene for 2.5 hours, they had no injuries on their part, and there was no damage to the school.
The Neillsville Police Department released a statement regarding the incident: "The Neillsville Police Department was called to the Neillsville School to investigate a concern brought to our attention by school officials."
"The responding officers and school officials decided to evacuate the building and perform a comprehensive search as a safety precaution. This matter remains under investigation, and there are no immediate risks to our students or citizens. Once more information becomes available, I will update you at that time."

The Neillsville School District was evacuated this afternoon after a bomb threat was discovered.
According to a statment from the District, "a written bomb threat was found in the afternoon in the high school building on 11/9/22. It could not be determined when it was written, so in cooperation with law-enforcement, the building was evacuated at 3 PM.
Students went directly home after being dismissed. Agencies are currently doing a search of the building to make sure everything is safe for a return to a normal day tomorrow. The district will continue to investigate the threat to find out who may have written it, and appropriate actions will be taken.
