Christmas Parade Memorial Commission Sets $1.5 Million Goal

(Bob Hague, WRN) The Waukesha Parade Memorial Commission has launched its fundraising effort.
The goal is to raise one and a half million dollars towards creation of two memorials to the victims of the Christmas parade tragedy. Commission members felt it was important to have a marker downtown where the tragedy took place.
A larger more reflective space will be designed for a nearby city park. Six people were killed and dozens more injured when Derrell Brooks drove an SUV through the parade route in November 2021. Brooks is scheduled to be sentenced on November 15.
