BRICKS LEAVING DOWNTOWN NEILLSVILLE SIDEWALK
Thursday, July 27th, 2006 -- 2:10 PM
Neillsville city crews are pulling up the bricks that line the downtown sidewalks from 4th to 8th street.Public Works Director Dave Flynn say the bricks have become a safety hazard and maintenance concern.
Many of the bricks have names on them. They were sold as a fundraiser for the Gazebo project. Those bricks will be moved to the Town Square park, but the final destination of the remaining pavers is up in the air.
The removal is leaving a gap that is being filled with cement, including some handicap accessible ramps, Flynn say.
