SUDER OUTRAISES SWIGGUM

Wednesday, July 26th, 2006 -- 8:46 AM

A challenger for an area state assembly seat will have his work cut out for him based on recent campaign finance filings.

Tim Swiggum, a Democrat from Owen, is challenging incumbent state representative Scott Suder ? but the Abbotsford Republican has around eight-times the campaign money.

The State Elections Board recently released the results of the campaign finance filings from candidates for the Fall Election. The reports shows Swiggum started the year with no campaign cash on hand, but raised $4,292 during the first half of the year. $3,400 of that money came from individual donors, the other $900 cam from Political Action Committees.

Meanwhile, Suder began the year with $22,615 in his campaign coffers; he?s raised an additional $8,000, totaling just over $31,000. Of Suder?s campaign money raised this year, $4,800 comes from PACs, $3,800 comes from individual donors.
