(Mike Leischner, WSAU) Two upper midwest regional health systems are considering a merger.
Marshfield Clinic Health System and Essenta Health have signed a memorandum of understanding which states they may join forces to form a multi-state regional health system covering more than two million people from North Dakota to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, covering mostly rural and small-urban areas.
None of the big details such as what the new system would be called or how its leadership would be structured have been announced, but both sides have stated that they are excited for what the prospects of a combined health system could bring.
