Wisconsin Department of Health Services Expands Monkeypox Vaccine Eligibility
Friday, October 7th, 2022 -- 8:10 AM
(Bob Hague, WRN) The state Department of Health Services says more people are now eligible for the monkeypox vaccine.
DHS this week expanded its eligibility list for the shot following updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The new criteria allow for more people who may be at a higher risk for being exposed to the monkey pox virus to get vaccinated.
As of Wednesday, there have been 81 cases identified in Wisconsin. The infection rate has been declining but DHS said the vaccination remains an important tool to further tamp down the virus.
