Brian Kief has been named President of Aspirus Health’s South and Southwest Divisions, according to Jesse Tischer, Senior Vice President and President, Regional Markets.
The divisions overseen by Kief include Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids and Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, as well as the clinics and services affiliated with the two hospitals. Since joining Aspirus in April 2022, Kief has served as interim President of its Southwest Division.
“We are fortunate to retain Brian in this important leadership position,” said Tischer. “During his brief time with Aspirus, Brian has cultivated meaningful relationships, embraced Aspirus’ vision, mission and values, and provided strategic direction.”
Kief began his healthcare career with Allina Health System in Minnesota, serving as President of two hospitals near the Twin Cities. In 2002, he joined Ministry Health Care as President of Howard Young Health Care in Woodruff.
From 2009 to 2017, he served as President of Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield and Vice President of Ministry’s Western region. During his time at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, he engaged with the medical staff to lead the development of new tertiary services while also achieving significant improvements in safety, quality, and patient satisfaction.
In 2017, Kief accepted a leadership position with Pukall Lumber in Arbor Vitae, returning to healthcare in 2022 when he recognized the opportunity to help lead during this time of significant transition within the healthcare industry.
“My passion lies in building and motivating teams to increase clinical quality, improve patient experience, and strengthen financial accountability,” said Kief. “Through healthcare innovation, operational excellence, and strategic collaboration, I look forward to guiding the exceptional teams of Aspirus Health’s South and Southwest divisions and delivering the highest quality health care to the communities we serve.”
Kief holds a Master of Health Administration degree from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics/International Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
