STOPLIGHTS FOR TRICKY MARSHFIELD INTERSECTION
Friday, July 14th, 2006 -- 11:57 AM
Stoplights are going up at a notoriously dangerous area intersection. If you live or drive near Marshfield, you?re probably familiar with the intersection of HWY 10 and CTY HWY ?A? on Marshfield southeast side.
Its design is peculiar with County Highway traffic crossing a usually busy, extra-wide section of HWY 10.
In fact, since November of 2003, there have been 34 accidents recorded there, including a fatal accident involving a Wausau priest.
DOT officials have decided to put stoplights at the intersection.
Highway 10 is scheduled to be reconstructed starting in 2009, when the road will be expanded to four lanes.
