ROYALTY WILL BE NAMED FRIDAY NIGHT

Friday, July 7th, 2006 -- 9:24 AM

--New royalty will be crowned tonight as part of Neillsville?s Heritage Days festivities.

Brenda Seyfert organizes the Little Miss Neillsville Queen Coronation that will be held in the Middle School Pit at 6 p.m.

?Its for girls between the ages of 7 and 10. We have 21 entries this year, which is the most we?ve ever had,? Seyfert says.

The girls are interviewed before a random drawing chooses the winner. Bob Lulloff will M.C. the event.

Heather Mabie organizes the Miss Neillsville Queen Coronation, which will begin at 9 p.m.

This year, the coronation will be held in the High School Auditorium, as opposed to the Gazebo.

?We're going to give that a try this year for a little bit more of a stage effect, and a little less traffic noise,? Mabie says.

Four Neillsville high school juniors are vying for the crown worn the past year by Jill Anding.

?(Jill?s) done an excellent job throughout the past year, along with her court of Sara Larsen, Lacey Strobush and Kelly Sigurdson,? Mabie says.

The girls are interviewed for 10- to 15-minutes and asked a question on stage during the Coronation.

The girls attend numerous City functions, but also represent the City at around fifteen parades around the area, according to Mabie.

If you?re planning to attend the Queen Coronation ? which is also where we're going to announce the winner of the Bose Wave Radio ? you?re asked to use the south, Willow Street entrance to the school. The west entrance will be closed due to parking lot repairs.
