Withee Village Board Approves Ordinance Regarding Fire Inspection

The Withee Village Board passed an ordinance regarding fire inspection.

An Ordinance was passed for fire inspections to allow the OWC Fire and EMS District to conduct fire inspections only once per year instead of twice per year. The board also approved applying for the League safety grant to pay for a lift table.

The police reported on their 95 incidents and purchasing an RMS system like the county. The RMS system will cost $2800 to purchase and an annual $1500 fee, but should save on entering time.

The Chief of Police reported on the ordinance violations. With a few he is working with them, especially if they show progress in correcting the issue. Also, the Department’s K9 Unit had several deployments.

The K9 Unit’s brother died from a tic-borne disease so they got him checked by a vet and he is good. Also, Black River Sportsmen's Group wants to renew the 25 year lease with the Village. 

Changes with the lease are to delete the section for paying a percentage of insurance as rent and a section about removal of personal property as that was taken care of 25 years ago.

Also, a resolution was passed to recognize Curt Wytynski and Gail Sumi from the League of WI municipalities as they are both retiring. Finally, the Village approved updating the village website with TownWeb and renewing with a 3 year contract.
