Tuesday, September 13th, 2022 -- 10:40 AM
The Neillsville Fire Department responded to a milk truck tipped over in the ditch on Monday morning.
According to Neillsville Fire Chief Matt Meyer, around 8:55am yesterday morning, they received a report of a milk truck tipped in the ditch about 75 yards east of Cardinal Avenue on Granton Road in the Township of Grant. When they arrived, they found the truck tipped over in the north ditch.
The driver of the truck was out of the vehicle and had minor injuries. The Department secured the scene. There was some milk leaking from the truck, but the Department secured that as well. They had no injuries on their part and assisted with traffic control.
They received mutual aid from the Neillsville Ambulance Service, the Clark County Sheriff’s Department, the Granton First Responders, and the Clark County Emergency Management Director.
Most firefighters were released after an hour, however the chief and another firefighter remained on scene for seven hours while they pumped the milk from the truck into another truck and put the first truck on the road.
